I witnessed miracles last night. I've been helping out at Christ Church for this years Vacation Bible School working with 4th and 5th graders, and I couldn't have fallen more in love with these kids. They're so into God, and it's really heartwarming to witness. Especially these days, I feel. Last night, at the end of class, five kids accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior for the very first time! One of them I know was in my group, a girl who has touched my heart completely. I feel like a role model for her, and it's an awesome feeling. I'm so happy for these kids!

On other notes, I apologize for my temporary leave of absence. Not only have I been trying to juggle my sleeping schedule and get it back on track--for however long that may last, lol--but Bryan has officially gotten me addicted to World of Warcraft. Believe me, I never expected it of myself, but it just happened. So now I'm paying for a full account and only in the last few days has the excitement worn down and I'm back to engaging in other things as well, lol.

I saw the two sneak preview clips of New Moon from Comic Con '09 for the first time last night. They looked awesome, despite people screaming over the dialogue, lol. That and the Half-blood Prince is the best Harry Potter movie yet! It's been really difficult for them to top Chamber of Secrets for me--why, I don't know--but they did it! I cried like an idiot, but I'm proud, lol.

So anyway, I finally get payed on Saturday. It seems like July has gone by so slow. We're planning on moving a new place in the next couple of months, but nothing's final yet, so we'll see how that goes. I've got so many things to buy, lol. I need furniture, a new computer and/or laptop, hedgehog supplies, etc. I'm gonna have to ask my dad for some financial help and he's not gonna like it, lol.

He's here! Mr. Hedgeshweeg is finally here! We just got back from the airport, and he's home and sleeping soundly in his cage. He's gonna be spoiled, I can say that right now. I haven't seen his cute little hedgie face yet--he's slept the whole time and is a little scared. He's supposed to wake up in about four or five hours, but we'll see how things go. Several different online sources say he could take up to twelve hours to come out of it, seeing as he needs to get used to his new environment. He's so small. They only grow to be about the size of a baby bunny, but he's only six weeks old right now and my breeder said he's at the perfect age to adopt because you get to really enjoy those small baby days, which only last for about a month (i.e. lots of photo-taking). Now alls I gots to do is settle on the perfect name for little hedgie!

I'm sure I'll be blogging more about this later, or at least within the next couple of days. I feel so blessed!

Thank you, Jesus! ^.^

I feel like I haven't posted an update in forever. It's been nearly two weeks now, which I'm not satisfied with. I need to stop avoiding updates due to OCD. It's ridiculous.

First and foremost, I'm only that much closer to getting my hedgehog! I still can't think of a name for him, lol. If anyone has some unique suggestions, they'd really be appreciated. Mike and I set up the cage last night and now I'm even more anxious. I still need to get a whisper wheel, but it's hard to find one twelve inches in diameter. Eh, I'm sure I'll get it taken care of eventually, lol.

Other than preparing for hedgie paradise, I haven't been doing much besides working on web graphics and reading. I've been swimming more than I ever have in the past five years, though. Cathy's in her pool practically every day and thankfully she's invited Mike and I over several times to share in the fun. My friend Shelly's also got a new apartment with a pool in the complex, so I got to check that out the other day. Her apartment's really cute and makes me want my own, but I'm not about to separate myself from my mom and two cats, lol. I'm just glad to be swimming again.

On other notes, Twilight is beautiful. I'm half-way through the first book and I can't wait to get to the next. It's almost like I'm drained after reading a chapter because of the magnetism between Edward and Bella. It's so sexy! I crave it.

Hopefully later tonight I'll have enough icons finished to post, so look out for that. If not tonight, then at least in the next couple of days.

I've just realized that, as of midnight, it's been over a week since my last post. That's not good. That's not good at all. Not for any particular reason, of course, I just don't like it, lol. I need to learn to keep up with this thing on a regular basis.

So much has happened in the past couple of days. Thankfully, every one of them has been a complete blessing. First and foremost...

I'M GETTING A HEDGEHOG!

I'm not saying this lightly, as I always do. I really am getting one. I put the down payment on the little guy yesterday. I'll have him by the first week of next month, when he's just old enough to be separated from his mother. My breeder is awesome! I couldn't have asked for a nicer, more helpful and caring person to purchase one from. I've already invested in a very, very good cage for it, along with several toys and necessities for it. It's gonna have a very pampered life, that's for sure. I can't wait! I'm so excited!!

On to other matters... I've read four chapters of Twilight in the past 24 hours, which is unlike me to read anything that fast, lol. I usually get really engrossed in the books and there's no denying I love to read, but it took me years to finish something as simple as The Hobbit. It's not that I'd lose interest or anything, but my OCD has a pretty big effect on my reading and actually getting the book finished. I don't think it'll be too much of an issue for this one, though. I'm on chapter 8. Never before have I been so wrapped up in a story, even though I pretty much know what's gonna happen in the end. It's breathtaking. It's probably pretty unhealthy to admit this, but it's like I crave the relationship between Bella and Edward. It's incredibly seducing. I went so far the other day to actually start and finish a "fan fiction" story between the two. Highly sexual, of course. I've never once done that before in my life. I doubt I'll ever post it, though. Even in a community of Twilight fans. It's just a little embarassing for me to speak so sexually graphic, lol.

I think that's it for now. I've kind of, sort of got a big icon post in the works, which I'm gonna try and go work on now. Hopefully I'll get around to finishing it soon enough for my own satisfaction, lol.

I meant to post this yesterday, but I never got around to it. Thursday Mike and I went to the zoo in hopes of catching the hedgehog in the petting zoo awake. We knew we weren't going to have much time to wait for the hedgehog to wake up if it's wasn't up and active already since we waited until 3 o'clock to get going, so we got there about an hour before closing. Luckily for us, this was a good thing. Since the hedgie wasn't up, we asked one of the keepers if there were hedgehog's in any other part of the zoo. Though she said no, she said we were more than welcome to stick around and watch her take the hedgehog out and move it to the back rooms where it gets fed since it was almost time for the zoo to close. So we waited... and guess what! I got to pet the hedgehog!

It was so sleepy and so adorable! It actually wasn't as prickly as Mike and I thought it would be. The keeper was wearing a glove to take it out, but she said to go ahead and pet it cos it really just felt like a sponge brush. I even got a picture of it! I was upset that I didn't have my digital camera with me charged and ready, but I got some decent pictures with my cell. So I can't complain--I'm just so thankful I got to pet it! My mom and grandma are finally warming up to the idea that I am getting a hedgehog, whether I have their blessing or not, lol.

So yeah, I'm thinking about starting a "Hedgehog Blog" type community for hedgie enthusiasts. Hopefully! We'll see how things go.
